SAIC DESIGN ADVANCED LONDON is a dedicated multi-cultural concept studio set within the city of London, UK. Our team of creatives are responsible for delivering fresh thinking and new expressions for SAIC Motor brands; MG, ROEWE and R.

Full Time Openings

Periodically we have full time positions available within the team as we continually evolve and grow. These roles are integral to the collective efforts and output of the studio and applicants need to meet the required standards.

Our current vacancies are listed below:


Junior Designer

Creative advanced designer, working across exterior and interior projects.

•    Graduate at BA or Master level in Automotive or Transportation Design
•    Previous relevant experience with OEM or relevant field, previous internship level experience is sufficient.
•    Excellent sketch skills and creative skills.
•    Excellent presentation skills and use of relevant software; Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, PowerPoint, etc.
•    Ability to create conceptual level CAS models considered a benefit; Alias, Blender, Maya.
•    Ability to visual data and animate considered a benefit; VRED, Blender, UNREAL.
•    Familiar with the design process from creative research, through to 3D development.
•    Excellent verbal presentation skills and ability to communicate your design thinking.
•    Good understanding for vehicle layout, packaging, ergonomics, engineering basics and proportions.
•    Good awareness of global trends, international outlook and culturally aware.
•    Be a driven, self-motivated individual and a collaborative open-minded member of a team working to constrained time frames.
•    Self-disciplined with good planning skills.
•    Sensitivity and ability to understand and analyse requirements from upper management and wider business objectives.
•    Good spoken and written English skills.
•    This position is currently only open to UK residents or those already with the rights to work and reside in the UK.

We have an internship seat all year round, and can offer between 3, 6 and 9 months terms based on individuals and studying circumstances.

Interns are expected to participate in studio projects and immerse themselves into a working creative design studio and team. You will get to see live projects, be involved with design reviews at all levels, and grow your design awareness and skillset.

In order to qualify you must be studying or a recent graduate within the previous 6 month period.

SAIC Design Challenge

Run annually since 2012, SAIC Design run a competition open to students studying Design from across the World.

The competition provides the opportunity for a 2 month summer internship at either our studio in Shanghai, China or London, UK. Successful candidates work alongside our design team developing their own concepts and proposals to a professional level.

The SDC is a fantastic opportunity for us to bring in a group of students into a stimulating environment where they can further their skills.
